CREATOR PROFILE

Scott Bakken

Photographer
Scott's photography has always been about more than the image—his founding of Socality, a creative community connecting cultural contributors through social media, reflects a belief that visual storytelling is most powerful when it builds something. Based in the Pacific Northwest, he brings a community builder's instinct to his commercial work, understanding the platforms and the audiences as well as he understands light and composition. His consulting practice and photography work operate from the same principle: authentic imagery creates lasting impact.

EXPERIENCE WITH PROPS

Scott's practice sits at the intersection of travel photography and digital strategy—a combination that makes him distinctly valuable to brands seeking content that performs across platforms as well as it reads in print. His work in the outdoor and adventure travel space brings a cinematic quality to natural subjects, while his experience building creative communities gives him a nuanced understanding of what motivates and moves online audiences. He produces for brands in the travel, outdoor recreation, and lifestyle sectors.

Subject Matter

Outdoor adventure, travel, and the digital creator economy. Scott's work documents the American landscape with an explorer's eye—from Glacier's mountain roads to Zion's canyon walls—and his storytelling reflects both a deep familiarity with wild places and a strategist's understanding of how that content connects with the people who aspire to visit them.

Scott Bakken

For my fortieth birthday, I wanted to take a trip with some of my best friends to see some incredible places—so one of them planned a trip for the books. A jam-packed itinerary, seven national parks in seven days, starting in Montana and ending in Utah. The kind of trip where you're chasing sunrises and staying up for sunsets, sleeping wherever is practical, because out here the views don't care where you're spending the night.
